چکیده

This paper is a review of previous works on the stochastic background of gravitational waves (SBGWs) which has been discussed in various peerreviewed journals and international conferences. The SBGWs is analyzed with the aid of the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP) data. We emphasize that, in general, in previous works in the literature about the SBGWs, old Cosmic Background Explorer (COBE) data were used. After this, we want to face the problem of how the SBGWs and f(R) gravity (where f(R) is a function of the Ricci scalar R) can be related, showing, vice versa, that a revealed SBGWs could be a powerful probe for a given theory of gravity. In this way, it will also be shown that the conform treatment of SBGWs can be used to parametrize in a natural way f(R) theories. Some interesting examples which have been recently discussed in the literature will be also analysed. The presence and the potential detection of the SBGWs is quite important in the framework of the debate on high-frequency gravitational waves (HFGWs) too. Recently, the importance of HFGWs has been emphasized in some papers in the literature. PACS numbers: 04.80.Nn, 04.30.Nk, 04.50.+h

امواج گرانشی حرارتی در فاز شتاب‌دار کیهان

Gravitational waves are considered in thermal vacuum state. The amplitude and spectral energy density of gravitational waves are found enhanced in thermal vacuum state compared to its zero temperature counterpart. Therefore, the allowed amount of enhancement depends on the upper bound of WMAP-5 and WMAP-7 for the amplitude and spectral energy density of gravitational waves. The enhancement of ...

Chiral primordial gravitational waves from a Lifshitz point.

We study primordial gravitational waves produced during inflation in quantum gravity at a Lifshitz point proposed by Horava. Assuming power-counting renormalizability, foliation-preserving diffeomorphism invariance, and the condition of detailed balance, we show that primordial gravitational waves are circularly polarized due to parity violation. The chirality of primordial gravitational waves ...

A Decision between Bayesian and Frequentist Upper Limit in Analyzing Continuous Gravitational Waves

Given the sensitivity of current ground-based Gravitational Wave (GW) detectors, any continuous-wave signal we can realistically expect will be at a level or below the background noise. Hence, any data analysis of detector data will need to rely on statistical techniques to separate the signal from the noise. While with the current sensitivity of our detectors we do not expect to detect any tru...

Detecting the Cosmological Stochastic Background of Gravitational Waves with FastICA

We show that the stochastic background of gravitational waves, produced in the early cosmological epochs, strictly depends on the assumed theory of gravity. In particular, the specific form of the function f(R), where R is the Ricci scalar, is related to the evolution and the production mechanism of gravitational waves. Using a neural network algorithm which only requires non-Gaussian nature an...
